Unemployment now at 12.2%

A further 10,500 people signed on to the Live Register in July bringing the standardised unemployment rate to 12.2 per cent, according to new figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

The unemployment rate is now at its highest since April 1995 and up from just 6.4 per cent a year ago.

And yet the government gave another 40,000 new PPSN numbers to foreign immigrants in the first 3 months of the year, most were from Europe but a lot were from outside of the EU, so instead of 40,000 of the Irish people getting jobs in order to pay their mortgage and school their children during this downturn we allow others to come in work and send money out of the country.

How does this help build the country ?

Can anyone see the logic in this ?
