AN POST has confirmed that it has begun disciplinary proceedings against a number of employees after a racist e-mail was circulated within the company.
The e-mail stated: “If you cross the North Korean border illegally, you get 12 years hard labour. If you cross the Iranian border illegally, you are detained indefinitely. If you cross the Afghan border, you’re shot. Saudi Arabian border you’ll get jailed. All sorts of terrible things will happen to you if you cross almost every other border except the Irish border.”
“If you cross the Irish border illegally you get a job, a driver’s licence, social insurance card, money from the social security, food stamps, credit cards, subsidised rent or a loan to buy a house, free education and free healthcare.”
Comparing the asylum system to a game show, it noted: “We’ve already given away hundreds of millions of euros . . . courtesy of the sponsor, the Irish taxpayer.”

The people circulating stuffs like this should realize there are undocumented Irish in places like America and Australia...
ah the shopworn buzzword 'racist' conjured by the manipulated media talking heads sure to get one's attention
where oh where does this veracious e-mail mention race of any kind?
Hello,
I have worked for An post for many years prior to my departure. The issue of racism is at the highest level of management and encouraged by them.Senior management officials are engaged in blatant disragard of race laws and treat non-nationals working in An post with cruiety and disdain. They often engage in fabricating stories in an attempt to dismiss a non-national. They threaten with their behaviour and intimidate non-nationals working there. If management really want to resolve the crime of racism or inciting racial hatred in An post, they should check the attitude of some senior management officials who act as if they have not seen a black, polish or asian person all their lives.
Most companies have two faces, a private one and a public one. How many "racist" joke emails are going around the offices of Irish companies today, if this email hadn't been publicised on Vincent Brownes programme it would have just past into obscurity like all the others. It's a pro immigrant publicity stunt.
If what you say about An Post is true Joseph then I say don't hire immigrants in the first place, but they probably have to fill a quota with non-Irish nationals. At the end of the day it's the Irish nationals who are suffering because of cheap migrant labour.
